The Body that Needs
<p>In this conversation – of which an edited version is published in <em>Errant Journal</em> No. 7, “Embodying Resistance” – guest editor Ghiwa Sayegh speaks with Korean American writer, artist, and musician Johanna Hedva about their new book <em>How To Tell When We Will Die: On Pain, Disability, and Doom</em>. In it they talk about universality and difference, solidarity and failing activism, as well as bodies in all their forms; disabled, caring, and desiring. The conversation also touches on what ableism has done to the idea of spiritual gift or intuition, and capitalist labelling of madness and monstrosity, to then go into the topic of kink, or kink as care, and the need for communities to exist with conflict.</p>
