Char – The No-Mans Island

<h2>Synopsis</h2> <p>The film revolves around Rubel, a young boy who wants to attend school, but whose financial circumstances force him to become a smuggler from India to Bangladesh. Every day, he has to cross a river that forms the border between the two countries. He stays at an island named Char which is a no-man’s land and is patrolled by the border security force of both countries.</p> <h2>About the Director</h2> <p>Sourav Sarangi was born in 1964, studied geology but later shifted his major to film editing in FTII, the famous film school in India. These years, he has been mostly involved in international co-productions. The few documentaries and fictions Sourav made have won him worldwide awards. He has also extensively worked in private-sectored television channels in India as the programming director.</p>
