Jeremy Shaw: Tracer Archive

Bilingual in English and German

In the exhibition Towards Logarithmic Delay, Jeremy Shaw explores altered states of mind and the cultural and scientific practices that aspire to map transcendental experience. His works are captivated by phenomena that defy rational explanation and the belief systems that evolve in their pursuit. The exhibition is accompanied by a publication with a text by Jeremy Shaw. As an artistic intervention, the book contains screenprints of images from his Cathartic Illustration series. Sourced from archival press photographs, the images show human figures in various states of apparent abandon. As these works are not on display at the Secession, the publication serves as an independent extension of the exhibition with similar conceptual motivations.
