<p>Since the sea isn’t bound to land-based ideas of space and time, it can hold vital counternarratives, as evidenced by Drexciya’s nautical Afrofuturism and their enduring appeal. Today we explore the inspired work of Detroit-based techno group Drexciya, whose innovative electronic sounds are matched only by their imaginative underwater world-building. Special guests include visual artist Abdul Qaddim Haqq, arts activist DeForrest Brown Jr, and scholar Katherine McKittrick.</p>
